Title: seljuk tombs in iran and asia minor:an analytical and comparative study

Abstract: This paper aims at showing the similarities and differences between Seljuk tombs in Iran and those in Asia Minor from the fifth century up to the end of the seventh century of the Hijra. The points of emphasis are the architectural elements such as planning which comprises the interior of the tomb, the mehrab, the burial chamber, ceiling cover, covering designs, entrance, windows and stairs. The paper also highlights the ornamental elements of the tombs. It presents a comparative study between many of the Seljuk tombs in Iran during the Ilkhanid period and Anatolia. This article concludes that many similarities exist in the architectural designs of tombs in Iran and Asia Minor.
